In his monologue about growing up in Hiroshima, he mentions hating summer. Summer has become a big theme in regard to Shibazaki. When you have a habit of graffiti tagging the places you go, it makes their job pretty easy. Guys, of course the police have figured out the connection to the stolen plutonium. Names are only for people with love in their life, so you don’t get any. What the hell is this place they escaped from? Whatever it is, it wants to break these kids of their humanity. The whole concept of the riddles begs the question, why give the police a hint at all? It’s almost implied that by Twelve that Nine wants the riddles to be figured out.
